Again the wind did not deliver but we made the most of the dry weather and explored the area by bike. Given how much time I spend in South Wales – it is amazing how little exploring past the key beaches I have done over the last few years. Sker Beach has a really nice wave but access requires more effort than Rest Bay or Coney. It is going to take a 20 minute walk from the nearest car park vs the under 5 minutes for Rest and no minutes for Coney.
Sker feels a bit more remote. The key is really that there are alot less people – on this day 5 surfers vs 30-40 at Rest. It is a big beach too. It is not a bad looking beach however the big steel works is always looming in the background. It looked so much fun in the water – I wish I had been out there!
