Once resorts close for the season the snow does not just disappear. With the bumper snowfall this season there was tonnes of snow still about in late April. We drove up to the town in La Ros, set up and skinned up to the fort at the top. This gives some amazing views. Looking back towards Bourg you can see most of the Tarantaise valley. Looking the other way you can see into Italy, follow the Col de Petit St Bernard and Mt Blanc in the distance. Check out the panoramas below.
Hiking with skiers can be pretty tough for a splitboarder. Our gear is just heavier. When they are seasonaires who have been riding loads and you have spent most of the year sat in an office or car and your time in the mountains drinking beer and eating like a king its even worse. Still it was a glorious day and nice to be out and about. Another great day out in the alps in April!
