With a far from good forecast for the day we packed waterproofs and headed to the Brecon Beacons National Park. Starting off near Talybont we hiked through the Taf Fechan Forest then up to the top of Fan Y Big. From there you can see across the Beacons to Pen Y Fan. Despite the thick cloud which kept blowing past we avoided any showers. We kept moving along the ridge then came back down the glacial valley. It ended up being a 10 mile loop with amazing scenery, plenty to look at and not too many people.
