Another weekend with not enough wind to kitesurf so a plan was hatched to go paragliding. The call was made to head west and maybe check out a coastal site. When meeting up in Porthcawl to hop in single vehicle and continue our journey, a last minute wind check meant we needed to adjust our plans in order to accommodate the weather. Instead of the coast we were headed inland to the valleys. Another site I have never been to – Bryncaws. The access road is rough!
The ridge is 1km long and we had it to ourselves. The wind was blowing straight onto the hill – it is always good when your decisions to head somewhere pay off like this. Rich set up and took to the skies – after proving the conditions were flyable Marcus joined him. I took some shots before getting my wing out. The haze and general grey day meant the photos do not look at great as the recent sunset sessions at Rhossili or Fochriw. It was great to be flying all together for the first time in a year.
Getting some regular flying in has been paying off for all of us. Improved confidence both on the ground and in the air, flying more dynamically and generally feeling a lot more comfortable!
