The highest point in South Wales and one very busy spot to go hiking on a Sunday. It is easy to get to and a simple but steep hike. The first bit has little appeal to me – all you can see is a never ending stream of people going up and down. The true beauty comes after the summit if you keep hiking. There is peak after peak to hike. It gets pretty brutal as there is no walking on the flat – it is steep up and steep down. The crowds thin out pretty fast. The round trip took us about four hours.
We got lucky with the weather – no rain, very mild temperatures and rolling cloud over the peaks. Today I did bring a memory card and a load of batteries so I was snapping away. The light got better and better as the day went with an orange sky appearing above the cloud line.
