Paragliding at Fochriw in the snow

I did not even really expect much snow, just it to be cold. As soon as we crossed the border into Wales you could see how white the hills were. Luckily access to Fochriw is a lot easier than Merthyr – there is no chance of making it up there without a 4×4 with snow on the ground. There was only a very light breeze, making it impossible for pilots to remain airborne for long.

After racing around in the snow with an excited spaniel I grabbed my wing and joined Marcus. It was good practice ground handling and fun to get some little flights in. Hiking back up the snowy ridge was hot work. After a few top to bottoms I was done. Time to head down and get the kettle on before heading home. Cant wait to get out again soon!
